About Us

Following Jesus Example in Prayer

by Rev John Lennon

Jesus is our greatest example: He is our role model!! Were living in a world full of crime and mayhem where good role models are hard to find Look at the recent and current example of Tiger Woods and the likes who lives are full of deceit and wickedness and people thought they were gods. Compare that to the life of Jesus well it simply doesn't compare. Jesus is the ultimate role model in the church and world to look up to and follow, whose life was one of love, honesty and integrity who live a sinless life who laid His life down for us, How did He achieve this?. Jesus life style was one of prayer, He was in constant contact with God, in an intimate relationship with His heavenly father, and intimacy is the key to any successful relationship, in fact intimacy with God means everlasting Life please read John (17:3) and look up the word KNOW.
You see brothers and sisters regardless of your current of experience in prayer. Christ is calling you to rise up and join Him, at His side, in strategic prayer and intersession that will result in entire cities, nations, and people groups being transformed by His power! By His ability, not our ability but His ability to do whatever He says He will do, He will accomplish. “In hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began.” (Titus 1:2). NKJV God cannot lie period so we can have full confidence in His ability to accomplish, all that He say’s He will do?
Are you willing to go beyond ordinary prayer into this new strategic level of prayer? Oh Pastor I am just an ordinary person, living a simple life, well let me tell you if you believe that it’s a lie from hell. The bible says in (1 Peter 2:9)
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people,(A peculiar people) that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light” NKJV in God’s Word you see He doesn't see us as ordinary, He sees us as Kings, He sees us as being a royal Priesthood, He sees us as being special?!! Chosen by Jesus to represent Him here on this earth, Yes we are God’s ambassadors, who has heavens backing in everything we do on this earth. We have all authority given to us by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Connect to that Kingdom through prayer, it’s vital to know how that supernatural kingdom operates.
Why was Jesus so effective in prayer? John 5:19
“Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner”.
Can you see it? Relationship it’s important
Jesus only spoke what the father taught John 8:28 John 8:28
“Then Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.”

Jude 1:20-21
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”
The Holy Spirit is our teacher, connect to the Holy Spirit and ask him to teach you to be effective in praying (Romans 8:26-27)
“26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God”. Speaking in tongues is important very important in order for you to receive revelation knowledge from God, it’s for our edification and quality alone time with God, its essential that we spend time with God alone, it’s to our advantage to do this!!!
Prayer is our spiritual oxygen, and just as oxygen is vital to our natural life, so prayer is vital to our spiritual life. We need to pray regularly and continually in order to live as God intended. Each of us will face trying circumstances in life. We could never win a war without fighting some battles. We’re going to have trials, but in our trials we can build our faith. We do not have to be moved by the circumstances in our life. When we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, He will take us from victory to victory. God has called each and every one of us to pray! Christians are called to have a lifestyle of prayer. In Ephesians 6:18 Paul says, “Pray at all times—on every occasion, in every season—in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty” (Amplified Bible).
We often think of prayer as a means of calling upon our heavenly butler, saying, “Give me this. I need that. I want this.” Or we think of prayer as calling upon our heavenly lifeguard. “Lord, I’m drowning. Help me! Save me!” But this isn’t how we should pray. Prayer should be something we do on a continual basis, not just when we want something or are in trouble.
In fact, it should be as automatic to us as breathing. Taking in oxygen is vital to our life. If we don’t continually receive oxygen, we will die! Imagine if on each Sunday we said, “Okay, I’m going to take my gulp of oxygen for this week.” It wouldn’t be long before we keeled over! We have to breathe oxygen on a daily basis—every hour, every minute. Prayer is our spiritual oxygen. We need it continually. Without it we can’t function properly, were in a weakened state, vulnerable, distracted, confused, depressed and then isolated. Its important we understand this principle to remember to pray means we stay connected to God and we have His resources at our disposal to walk in victory in our daily walk.
But too many times, Christians pray on Sunday and think they don’t need to pray any more that week. Or they will pray before meals and think they are all prayed up. Then they wonder why they aren’t living a victorious life—it’s because they only take one gulp of prayer for the week (or month), and that’s not enough to get by on.
To be victorious and spiritually healthy, we must live a life of prayer. You wouldn’t do it the natural, so why do it in the supernatural!!!! It’s spiritual suicide?

To be victorious and spiritually healthy, we must live a life of prayer.
I remember taking Driver’s Education in school. Back then in Ireland, taking Driver’s Education meant being able to receive a driver’s license at ages sixteen. I could hardly wait to take those classes, because I wanted to drive so badly! I was in a hurry to drive because I wanted to be independent. I wanted to be able to do what I wanted to do and go where I wanted to go.
the first two weeks of the class we learned the rules and regulations of driving. We learned about road signs, signal lights, the distance to maintain between us and the car ahead, and so forth. But did knowing the rules qualify us to drive? No. We had yet to actually get in a car and start driving!
’s important to know the rules of driving. But to become a good driver, a person should spend more time practicing the actual driving of a car than they do learning the rules. And it’s the same way with prayer. To be successful in prayer, we need to spend more time actually praying than studying the rules of prayer. But so many times, we have it backwards. We spend all our time learning the rules of prayer without actually praying.
it’s important that we learn how to pray. But it’s even more important that we pray. Prayer is not easy. It takes work, and the enemy tries to keep us from praying. He offers so many distractions, trying to consume our time—even with good things! Why doesn’t the devil want Christians to pray? He knows there is power in prayer.
driving school, the more we practiced driving, the better drivers we became. And the more you and I pray, the better “pray-ers” we will be!
have liked to pray ever since I was a child. But I have never wanted to share my prayer life with other people. I have always been very private in my prayers. I wanted to keep my prayer life between God and me. Growing up, I heard other people pray such beautiful prayers. They used all sorts of adjectives and beautiful words, and I’d think, God, I don’t pray like that. You know I just get to the point. So I’ve never wanted to let others in on my prayer life.
told God, “I live such a public life. It seems I’ve lived my whole life in a glass house. Can’t I just keep my prayer life between you and me?”
He said, “No. You need to help others to develop a relationship with their Heavenly Father.”
Each minister is used in different areas, and one of the areas in which God seems to be using me is in leading others to pray. God has a plan for each of us, and it’s important that we learn to follow the plan of God for our life. How do we follow that plan? We pray out the plan of God! (Jeremiah 29:11).
I am going to be obedient and share what I have learned and practiced concerning prayer. Lately, When ever I get an opportunity to teach on the subject of prayer. But I don’t just teach. After the message, we practice what we’ve learned—we pray! “James say we must become a doer” James 1:22-25
22 but be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 for if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
The Bible has just said blessing will be yours, abundance will be yours
want to share with you my thoughts on prayer principles that I have shared in talks with some brothers and sisters. These principles will help you learn about the “rules” of prayer in that they will teach you how to pray. But remember, it’s not enough to learn how to pray. You must spend time practicing what you’ve learned. I encourage you to read these articles on prayer and then to spend time praying as soon as you finish reading. This will help you put into practice the principles being taught.
knows how important prayer is; that’s why He gave us instructions to pray and instructions on how to pray. Even the devil knows how important prayer is. Now it’s time for Christians to realize its importance and to devote ourselves to a lifestyle of prayer. Today’s talk on prayer was just an introduction and to prepare us how we ought to pray to prepare our minds and heart to receive from God all that He has intended for us to live victorious lives.
In the following Months I will discuss many topics that the Holy Spirit has laid up on my heart to teach you about the importance of prayer for example,
Beyond Ordinary Prayer.’s Prayer Mandate on your life.that takes Hold of the Impossible.

Conclusion

Prayer must be practiced, liken it to a muscle, the more you actually pray the stronger and more consistent you will become, with your walk with God on a daily Basis.
as a man had to pray to seek God daily that’s why He was so successful in ministry, Jesus is our example, he raised the dead through prayer, he healed the sick, he had a relationship with God through prayer, He sought advice from God through prayer, He simply accomplished everything through prayer, His lifestyle was one of Prayer, it was continuous. He pursued God through prayer on a daily basis, we to need to pursue God daily through prayer, and seek His advice on everything, and it will be through that pursuing/seeking God that He will manifest his glory though you for His divine Will and purpose for your life.
